Belarus exports $20.2m worth of industrial products to Russia's Sverdlovsk Oblast in 2016

MINSK, 28 February (BelTA) – The companies of the Belarusian Industry Ministry exported some $20.2 million worth of products to Sverdlovsk Oblast of Russia in 2016. The information was posted on the official website of the Industry Ministry after the meeting of Belarusian Deputy Industry Minister Gennady Svidersky with First Deputy Governor of Russia's Sverdlovsk Oblast Aleksei Orlov on 28 February, BelTA has learned.

“Today, the companies of the Industry Ministry and the enterprises of Sverdlovsk Oblast maintain cooperation and business partnership ties in many areas. In 2016, our trade exceeded $44 million. The next meeting of the working group will help us determine new ways to step up our cooperation,” Gennady Svidersky said. Belarus' major exporters to Sverdlovsk Oblast are the white goods manufacturer Atlant, the automobile engineering company BelAZ, Kozlov Minsk Electrotechnical Plant, Belarusian Steel Works, the lift manufacturer Mogilevliftmash, Minsk Bearing Plant, Rechitsa Metalware Plant, and the mechanical engineering company Gomselmash.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for the cooperation in industry, power engineering, culture, education and other fields, and also agreed that the leading Belarusian machine-building companies will take part in the international industrial trade fair Innoprom to be held in Yekaterinburg in July 2017.

The Belarusian company Belenergostroi and Ural Turbine Works signed a contract to renovate Thermal Power Plant No. 3 in Minsk. The parties also signed a framework agreement on cooperation in energy-related projects in Belarus. The Belarusian Union of Tourist Organizations and the Tourism Development Center of Sverdlovsk Oblast concluded a cooperation agreement.

A delegation of Sverdlovsk Oblast visited Belarus to study the country's mechanical engineering potential. They paid visits to the companies Amkodor, BelAZ and Minsk Tractor Works.
