Belarus' export growth forecast for 2018 approved

MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian government issued Resolution No.131 on 15 February 2018 to approve the merchandise export growth forecast for 2018, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian government.

The heads of Belarus' foreign establishments, other officials have been instructed to ensure a monthly increase in the export of goods (except for oil, oil products, oil gas and gas hydrocarbons, potash and nitrogen fertilizers).

According to the document, the export to South Africa and Nigeria is forecast to increase the highest – by at least 45%. Export to China is expected to go up by 44%, to Vietnam, Argentina and Brazil by 30%.

As regards the deliveries to the CIS member states, the export to Ukraine is projected to increase by 25%, to Azerbaijan by 9%, to Russia by 7%, Armenia and Kazakhstan by 6%.

The merchandise export has been defined as the key performance indicator for Belarus diplomatic missions in order to promote effective measures to diversify exports and advance to new markets.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall monitor the compliance with the resolution. The report on the status of export will be sent quarterly to the Belarusian government.
