Belarus expected to take active part in China International Import Expo 2018

MINSK, 11 July (BelTA) – China expects Belarus to take an active part in the first China International Import Expo in Shanghai. The statement was made by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Cui Qiming during an event hosted by the embassy on 11 July, BelTA has learned. The event was arranged to present Belarus' national exposition during the China International Import Expo.

Cui Qiming said: “Belarusian products are of excellent quality and are very important for the Chinese market. The expo, which is scheduled to take place in Shanghai on 5-10 November 2018, should become kind of a new platform for more actively promoting Belarusian products to China and creating new vectors of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation.” The ambassador was confident that Belarus' national exposition during the expo in Shanghai will give a new impulse to cooperation between the two countries.

The ambassador also pointed out that Belarus-China comprehensive strategic cooperation advances vigorously with personal support of the leaders of the two countries – Alexander Lukashenko and Xi Jinping.

Cui Qiming underlined the importance of the fact that the presentation of Belarus' national exposition in the Chinese embassy had been initiated by Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas, who was also present during the event. In turn, the deputy minister of foreign affairs thanked the Chinese ambassador for assistance with organizing the presentation. Andrei Dapkiunas said he believes the presentation would become an important contribution to the organization of the national exposition and the advancement of Belarusian-Chinese relations as a whole. Andrei Dapkiunas pointed out that the head of government oversees preparations for Belarus' participation in the China International Import Expo.

A large number of Belarusian and Chinese representatives attended the presentation. The presentation highlighted Belarus' industrial potential, tourism, investment, transport, logistics, scientific, technical, and cultural potential in addition to healthcare, food products, and agricultural products of the country.
