Belarus eligible to participate in procurement programs of Russian state corporations

MINSK, 17 May (BelTA) – Belarusian manufacturers will be able to participate in procurement programs of Russian state corporations, Belarus Deputy Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Edvard Matulis told the media on 17 May, BelTA has learned.

“Literally on Monday we got an official letter, which clearly says that companies and goods made in the EAEU member states will be eligible to participate in procurement programs of Russian state corporations under the same conditions as Russian-made goods,” Edvard Matulis said.

He recalled that last year the Russian government adopted a resolution banning foreign manufacturers from participation in procurement programs of state corporations. Certainly, Belarusian producers and enterprises from other EAEU member states had questions. We agreed with the Russian Ministry of Economic Development that they would give an explanation,” Edvard Matulis noted.

The official letter reads that if producers from EAEU countries have problems with access to procurement programs of Russian state corporations, they can contact the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia. “We have posted this information on the official website and are communicating it to our ministries and manufacturers,” Edvard Matulis informed.

The procurement market of Russian state corporations is estimated at more than $150 billion.
