Belarus, Egypt mull over joint ventures in petrochemistry, pharmaceutics

MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Egypt Dr Sergei Rachkov met with Chairman of Board of the Egyptian Chamber of Chemical Industries (FEI) Dr Sherif El-Gabaly and members of the board of directors of the chamber on 21 October, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy.

The meeting was also attended by a delegation of OAO Grodno Azot and its subsidiary Khimvolokno Plant. During the meeting the parties discussed launching supplies of Belarusian nylon and polyester yarns and fibers, composite materials and nitrogen fertilizers to Egypt. “Special emphasis was given to a project to manufacture certain petrochemical products from Belarusian raw materials in Egypt,” the embassy said.

Sergei Rachkov met with Chairman of Sakson Group and Sakkal Trading Chukri Sakkal. The parties considered the possible participation of Sakson Group and Sakkal Trading in the projects of joint production of Bobruiskagromash agricultural machinery, Gomselmash harvesters in Egypt, and also promotion of MAZ buses for the Egyptian public transportation systems.

The parties also discussed cooperation in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics such as the promotion and joint production of Belarusian medicines and cosmetics in Egypt.
