MINSK, 27 October (BelTA) – Plans have been made to increase the export of Belarusian meat and meat products by 25% by 2020 in comparison with 2015, BelTA learned from Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats during the forum held on 27 October to highlight products and capabilities of Belarusian meat producers.
The Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister pointed out that instructions had been given to export ready-made and processed products.
At present Belarusian processing enterprises offer more than 1,000 product titles. Many of them are busy certifying their merchandise for the sake of exporting to the Middle East, Asia, and the European Union. “Conquering new markets and exporting more are near-term priorities for the Belarusian agriculture,” said the Agriculture and Food Minister.
Belarus is one of the top 20 meat exporters.
The first export forum Belarusian Meat Industry is scheduled to take place in Minsk on 27-28 October. Meat-processing and poultry-farming specialists gathered in Minsk to discuss manufacturing, ways to increase the quality of meat products and expand the geography of export sales.
The Belarusian Meat Industry forum is held upon the initiative and under the aegis of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry. Over 200 people from ten countries came to participate in the event. The participants include top executives, market analysts, foreign trade specialists of virtually all the Belarusian meat-processing enterprises and poultry factories, representatives of government agencies and research institutions, respected foreign organizations and companies, diplomatic missions. The export potential of the Belarusian meat industry and ways to improve its performance are high on the agenda. The international forum of poultry farmers Minsk 2016 will take place alongside the Belarusian Meat Industry forum. The forum of poultry farmers will be held under the aegis of the Belarusian union of poultry farmers in association with the Eurasian association of poultry farmers for importing and exporting poultry meat and eggs.
