Belarus' dairy exports up 21.8% in January-November 2017

MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) – The export of Belarusian dairy products increased by 21.8% in January-November 2017, Natalia Sonich, the head of the main directorate for livestock at the Agriculture and Food Ministry, told the media on 22 January, BelTA has learned.

“In January-November 2017 Belarus exported its dairy products worth of $2 billion, up 21.8% from the same period in 2016. Belarus sold to 44 countries last year (31 countries in 2016),” said Natalia Sonich.

The farms furnished with the latest milk equipment account for more than 60% of the milk output. Following the modernization, the industry was able to significantly reduce production costs and improve the quality.

The expected profit margin for milk sale is 18.7% in 2017.
