MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) – Belarus and Iceland have signed the protocol to confirm the bilateral negotiations on access to the merchandise market are now over as part of Belarus' accession to the World Trade Organization. The document was signed in Geneva, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
The document was signed by Belarus' permanent representative to the UN office and other international organizations in Geneva Yuri Ambrazevich and Harald Aspelund, Iceland's permanent representative to the UN office and other international organizations in Geneva.
Iceland is the 17th WTO member state Belarus has finished market access negotiations with. Similar protocols were signed with South Korea, Japan, Ecuador, Norway, El Salvador, and Guatemala in 2017.
