Belarus, Chile discuss prospects of cooperation in trade, investments

MINSK, 28 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Chile discussed prospects of cooperation in trade and investment affairs during consultations between representatives of the Belarusian and Chilean ministries of foreign affairs in Minsk on 28 September, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

During the consultations the Belarusian delegation was led by Roman Sobolev, Director of the Foreign Economic Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Chilean delegation was led by Andres Rebolledo, Director General of the Directorate General for International Economic Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile, Deputy Minister of Trade.

The consultations focused on the state of the bilateral trade, the experience of Belarus and Chile in promoting export, and prospects of cooperation in trade and investment affairs. The Chilean side expressed interest in cooperation with Belarus, including in view of Belarus' membership in the Eurasian Economic Union. In turn, the Belarusian side expressed interest in selling Belarusian machines and vehicles in Chile and in participating in public procurement procedures.

As a result of the talks the Foreign Economic Affairs Department of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Directorate General for International Economic Relations of the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed a memorandum.
