Belarus-Chelyabinsk Oblast trade up by third in January-October 2017

MINSK, 13 December (BelTA) – Trade between Belarus and Russia's Chelyabinsk Oblast soared by 35.6% in January-October 2017 from the same period a year prior, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Ministry following a session of the working group on Belarus-Chelyabinsk Oblast cooperation in Minsk.

Belarus-Chelyabinsk Oblast trade totaled $235.4 million in January-October. Belarus major exports were region trucks, road construction equipment, tires, refrigerators, deep freezers, components and accessories for cars and tractors.

The working group touched upon a wide range of matters related to cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology, culture, and healthcare.

In order to boost bilateral trade, the sides agreed to update the draft action plan on trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation for 2018-2021 with specific measures in industry, agriculture, IT technology, pharmaceutics, healthcare, culture, tourism, and interregional cooperation.
