MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – Belarusian business people have pledged Br7,000 to support social startups at the Social Weekend 12 Hackathon, BelTA learned from the organizers of the Social Weekend project.
The forum took place in Minsk on 15-16 September and gathered over 350 people. The participants got an opportunity to win startup capital and to meet leading experts in marketing, business modeling and project management.
The applications for the contest of startup projects covered a number of issues, including promotion of sport among teenagers, improvement of the quality of life of elderly people, inclusion, prevention of domestic violence, support for parentless children and low-income families, development of the beauty industry, etc. A total of 67 projects were generated during the hackathon this season, of which 20 were shortlisted for the final, the organizers said.
