Belarus' budget sector to get additional resources in 2019

MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) – Belarus' budget sector will get additional resources in 2019. This is envisaged in the draft budget for 2019, Belarus' Finance Minister Maksim Yermolovich said in an interview to the STV TV channel, BelTA informs.

“The national consolidated budget will remain the same in nominal terms. The budget sector will get additional resources. This is the requirement of the head of state. This is the quality of life of the population,” said Maksim Yermolovich.

At the same time, in 2019 the state support for enterprises will get lower. “The working conditions have improved. This is not 2015-2016 when the budget had to solve the problems of enterprises,” the minister explained.

The budget with a surplus has been drafted for the next year. “The task set forth by the president remains the same which is to reduce the debt burden on the budget. To reduce the level of the public debt, we need to spend less than we earn. Therefore, certain budget revenues, which are not of a permanent nature and which are linked to the oil market, will be used to repay the state debt,” said Maksim Yermolovich.

According to the minister, this year's budget is doing better than forecasted. The basis on the conservative estimates of social and economic development forecasts makes it possible to take decisions on the redistribution or additional financing of the most important parameters determined by the president.
