Belarus' agricultural output up by 3% in January-May 2018

MINSK, 15 June (BelTA) - The agricultural output in Belarus' enterprises of all categories in current prices reached Br4.5 billion in January-may 2018, up by 3% from the same period of last year in comparable prices, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee.

The agricultural enterprises manufactured Br4.4 billion worth of products, up 3.5% versus January-May 2017.

The enterprises of all categories produced 754,600 tonnes of livestock and poultry (live weight), which was up by 0.3% over January-May 2017. The output of milk was 3.012 million tonnes (up 2.4%).

As for agricultural organizations, livestock and poultry output amounted to 719,500 tonnes (live weight), up by 0.7% as against January-May 2017. Milk output made up 2.908 million tonnes, up 2.8% from the same period a year earlier.

As of 1 June 2018, the cattle population amounted to 4.3 million head, up 037% from the same period a year prior, including 1.4 million cows (a 0.2% increase).
