Belarus' agricultural output 3.4% up in 2016

MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) – Belarusian agricultural enterprises of all kinds (state-run agricultural enterprises, private farming enterprises, and personal subsidiary economies) turned out Br15.3 billion worth of agricultural products in 2016, 3.4% up from 2015 in comparable prices, BelTA learned from the website of the National Statistics Committee of Belarus.

State-run agricultural enterprises turned out Br12.2 billion worth of merchandise, 3.1% up from 2015 in comparable prices.

The top contributor is Minsk Oblast (24.7% of the country's agricultural output). It is followed by Brest Oblast (18.6%), Grodno Oblast (15.9%), Gomel Oblast (15.5%), Mogilev Oblast (12.9%), and Vitebsk Oblast (12.3%).

Agricultural corporations, including private farmers, accounted for 80.1% of the country's agricultural output while personal subsidiary economies of Belarusians turned out 19.9% of the total.
