Afreximbank interested in products of Belarusian Hi-Tech Park companies

MINSK, 24 June (BelTA) – The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) is interested in products made by resident companies of the Hi-Tech Park, representatives of the Hi-Tech Park administration told BelTA after an Afreximbank delegation visited the Park.

The purpose of the visit was to examine the experience of creating and developing the Hi-Tech Park in Belarus, get familiar with software products for the banking industry, advance bilateral cooperation and bolster ties.

The Afreximbank representatives met with top executives of the Hi-Tech Park administration and visited the business incubator where they were made familiar with operational principles and results of the work of the Hi-Tech Park administration's innovative business support department. The sides exchanged opinions about the present and the future of high technologies and about the instruments that countries can use to form and develop a knowledge economy.

The software development company SoftClub, which resides in the Hi-Tech Park of Belarus, demonstrated its solutions in the area of banking and financial information technologies before the guests.

Afreximbank President and Chairman Benedict Oramah was interested in the products developed by the Hi-Tech Park resident companies. The sides agreed the contacts would be continued and cooperation in the sphere of information technologies would be developed.

The African Export-Import Bank is an international (interregional) financial institution. It was established in 1993 and is headquartered in Egypt. The bank's assets are estimated at roughly $5.5 billion, with the charter capital as large as $0.9 billion. The bank has its own international credit ratings Baa2 (Moody's) and BBB (Fitch). The bank's founders are located in 41 African countries.
