Afghanistan willing to develop cooperation with Belarus

MINSK, 16 August (BelTA) - Afghanistan is willing to develop cooperation with Belarus, Chief Executive of Afghanistan Abdullah Abdullah told the media after the talks with Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov, BelTA has learned.

An agreement to set up the Belarus-Afghanistan joint committee for trade and economic cooperation was signed in Minsk on 16 August. “In the light of this agreement our countries can expand the cooperation in various areas: mining, road construction, supply of agricultural products. We will also step up the exchange of experience and technologies,” Abdullah Abdullah said.

During the official visit to Belarus, Abdullah Abdullah went to see MTZ, MAZ, Amkodor, and BelOMO. According to him, these companies demonstrate a high level of technological development of the country. “We are ready to use Belarus' experience in various areas. We welcome Belarus' achievements in agriculture, industry, pharmacology, training of specialists in various fields,” he said.

Abdullah Abdullah also thanked Belarus for the willingness to engage in training of specialists for the economic sector of Afghanistan.
