Alexander Rybak to help Belarus pick its Eurovision 2015 entry
MINSK, 8 October (BelTA) – Well-known Norwegian singer of the Belarusian descent Alexander Rybak is looking for a singer for the Eurovision 2015 national selection competition. The Eurovision 2009 winner posted a video message for Belarusian singing talents online, BelTA has learned.
Auditions will be held in Mogilev, Grodno, Minsk and Brest on 19-22 October. Alexander Rybak is looking for a female singer over 18 who can sing folk. Competitors shall sing live and have two phonograms with one of them being a folklore song. The artist will undertake all the preparations for the national selection competition, from auditions to the writing of a song.
According to the rules of the Eurovision national selection competition, the participants should be citizens of the country they represent, the head of the Eurovision project in Belarus Olga Shlyager said.
Eurovision 2015 will be hosted by Vienna, Austria. The Belarusian TV and Radio Company is in charge of the national selection competition and preparations of a Belarusian participant for the Eurovision Song Contest.
