Year of Science

On 23 December 2016 Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed the decree to declare 2017 the Year of Science.

The main purpose of the decree is to bolster the role of science in the social and economic development of the country, enable comfortable conditions for preserving and developing the scientific potential, and shape Belarus' international image as a country with a high level of the intellectual and human capital.
