Two killed, 17 missing after strong quake in Peru

The quake hit offshore at 4:18 a.m. local time (0918 GMT) at a depth of around 36 km, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Peru's Civil Defense Institute said on Twitter that 65 people were injured.

Employees at the Chengdu Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology spent almost 17 years in restoring 290 Chinese cultural relics, including China's most ancient lacquer bed, which can be dated back to 2,500 years ago in the early Warring States Period (475-221 BC).
