Belarus was voted to host the Second European Games in 2019 at the 45th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees in Minsk in October 2016.

The Star Ambassador of the 2nd European Games certificate was presented to the Belarusian outstanding athlete by Director of the Minsk European Games Organizing Committee (MEGOC) Georgy Katulin in a ceremony in the Hall of Olympic Glory at the National Olympic Committee.

Eighteen applications were sent for the contest announced by the Culture Ministry. They came from Belarus, Moldova, Argentina and Japan. The materials were evaluated by the jury chaired by People's Artist of Belarus Vasily Rainchik.

Belarus to waive visas for fans ten days before European Games MINSK 2019

It is expected that such fans will be able to enter and remain in the country during the period that starts ten days before the games and ends ten days after the last competition. If they plan to come to Belarus via the Russian Federation, they will not need the Russian visa, the ministry noted.

Free Wi-Fi Internet access popular at Belarusian railway stations

Courtesy of the Belarusian mobile carrier MTS, free Wi-Fi access is available to residents of the country and tourists alike at Belarusian Railways stations. Over 120,000 terabytes of traffic has been consumed over the year.

About 1,000 doping samples to be taken during European Games MINSK 2019

On 11 July Minsk hosted Dr Klaus Steinbach, the chair of the EOC Medical and Anti-Doping Commission. The anti-doping program will be the responsibility of the EOC. Officers of the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) will be also involved during the games, including in the capacity of chaperones (to accompany the athletes to the doping control station) in order to fully comply with all anti-doping rules, Georgy Katulin noted.

The chefs de mission commended the way Minsk is preparing for the 2nd European Games, Director of the Minsk European Games Organizing Committee (MEGOC) Georgy Katulin told a press conference on 12 July.
Tickets for 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 in online retail as from 1 December

The website minsk2019.ticкetpro.by will start offering tickets for the games on 1 December. “We will reveal ticket prices in October. Anyone from any country will be able to buy tickets via the website as from 1 March 2019,” said the marketing manager.
