Belarus was chosen to host the Second European Games in 2019 at the 45th session of the EOC General Assembly in Minsk in October 2016. The Second European Games in Minsk will be taking place on 21-30 June 2019.
The document was signed as a result of the joint session of the boards of the two ministries. The document provides for further advancement of cooperation in sport and physical training, sport education and science in the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus Yuri Senko met with Acting Chairman of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine Miroslav Prodan on 21 November. Two memorandums were signed as a result of the meeting.
To choose the mascot is not the primary goal of the contest. The main thing is to draw attention to the event, to stir the interest of the public and get Belarusians involved in the preparation of the Second European Games, Belarus' First Deputy Information Minister Igor Lutsky said.
“Belarusian young people have responded to the call to take part in the contest. As far as I know, art teams, clubs, and even schools have sent their works. We have received over a thousand applications,” Georgy Katulin said.
