2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang

The 23rd Winter Olympics Games will take place in Pyeongchang, South Korea on 9-25 February 2018. The competition program will include 15 sports: figure skating, speed skating, short track speed skating, Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, freestyle skiing, Nordic combined, ski jumping, snowboarding, bobsleigh, skeleton, biathlon, curling, ice hockey and luge.

"Belarus will field athletes in six sports in Pyeongchang. Belarus has earned a total of 28 Olympic berths. The results of the Belarusian athletes at the latest World Cup competitions inspire optimism ahead of the Olympics,” said chief of the mission Alexander Baraulya.

Belarus will field 2014 Olympic champion Anton Kushnir, winner of two World Cup legs Maksim Gustik and Stanislav Gladchenko. Denis Osipov will go to the Olympics as a reserve.

Belarus biathlon team wraps up pre-Olympic training

The deputy prime minister inquired about the details of the preparations of one of Belarus' leading teams in winter sports for the important 2017/2018 season. According to Yuri Albers, senior coach for biathlon development, there were no problems with off-season preparations.
