2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang

The 23rd Winter Olympics Games will take place in Pyeongchang, South Korea on 9-25 February 2018. The competition program will include 15 sports: figure skating, speed skating, short track speed skating, Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, freestyle skiing, Nordic combined, ski jumping, snowboarding, bobsleigh, skeleton, biathlon, curling, ice hockey and luge.

The French biathlete clocked 32:51.7 to take gold, with one penalty. Silver went to Sebastian Samuelsson of Sweden, 12 seconds back with one penalty. Bronze was taken by Benedikt Doll of Germany, 15.1 seconds back, with one penalty.

“I started the race as we planned, cleaned the first prone. At the last standing it took me too long to prepare because of wind gusts. I started taking risks. I understood that I must do it because all the leaders had already left the shooting range,” Darya Domracheva said.

Despite bad weather conditions, the German athlete missed the target only once to clock the best 30:35.3. Silver went to Slovakia's Anastasiya Kuzmina, 29.4 seconds back with four penalties. Bronze was collected by France's Anais Bescond, 29.6 back, with one penalty.

Darya Domracheva finished 9th, with two penalties. Laura Dahlmeier of Germany won the race in 21:06.2. Marte Olsbu of Norway finished second, 24.2 seconds back, with one penalty. Veronika Vitkova of the Czech Republic was third to cross the finish line, 25.8 seconds back, with one penalty.
